In the crazy entertainment world, it’s rare to find a star that is able to have a marriage that actually stands the test of time. That’s what makes the fourteen year marriage of country music star Luke Bryan to his wife Caroline so special!

During a Q&A with theSkimm this week, Bryan was asked, “What’s the secret to a great marriage?”

“Communicate and make-up sex,” the 44 year-old replied with a smile. Bryan proceeded to show how the image on his phone’s lock screen is one of him and his spouse.

Earlier this year, Bryan talked about how “communication is key” in a marriage, adding that pursuing one’s passions is also important.

“Obviously quarantine has certainly put its share of new things to navigate,” Bryan told People Magazine back in February. “Caroline and I are used to spending quite a bit of time apart, and now I’m just here every day. But the main thing with us is properly inserting alcohol in parts of the relationship — it does a really, really good job for us. I’m playing!”

“It’s all about communication and giving each other time to go do the things that we’re passionate about,” he added, getting serious. “But the communication is so critical. When you get your wires crossed… I know it sounds cliché, but never go to bed mad. You really have to abide by that stuff.”

Bryan went on to say that a good marriage comes about only with hard work, and that it’s crucial to not let little things escalate into something big in a relationship.

“Sitting and letting something small turn into a big event is not how you make it,” Bryan said. “[Once you] have a family, you’re doing this with your family – it’s a lot. But you’ve walked down the aisle and you’ve said in front of God, ‘This is who I’m going to be with forever.’ You have to work so hard at it.”

Bryan is sadly currently battling COVID-19, which has forced him to take a hiatus from “American Idol,” which he is a judge on. Paula Abdul, an original judge on “American Idol” when it premiered back in 2002, has been filling in for him in his absence.
