The British television personality Piers Morgan has doubled down on his criticism of Meghan Markle by claiming that her husband Prince Harry hates being married to a “self-serving social climber” like her.

Morgan has been very critical of Meghan slamming the royal family in her explosive tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey earlier this month.

“I expected such disingenuous self-serving wrecking-ball stuff from a social-climbing Hollywood actress like Ms Markle, but for Harry to publicly shred his family and the Monarchy like this, while Prince Philip was seriously ill in hospital, is so out of character for a man who once bravely served his Queen and country in war,” Morgan said, according to The Irish Post. “He can’t be happy doing this, surely?”

Morgan went on to say that it is not racist for him to criticize Meghan just because he is white and she is a person of color.

“It appears that questioning Meghan’s fork-tongued ‘truth’ is now a racist hate-crime,” he said.

This comes after Morgan quit his job at “Good Morning Britain” because show runners were trying to make him apologize for criticizing Meghan in the wake of her interview.

Meghan and Harry’s interview with Oprah was highly controversial in a variety of ways. Meghan claimed that she was hit with racism from within the royal family, claiming that an unnamed senior royal questioned how dark her then-unborn son Archie’s skin would be. Harry refused to name this family member, only saying that it was neither Queen Elizabeth nor Prince Philip. Meghan also claimed that she felt so isolated as a royal that she considered committing suicide at one point during her pregnancy.

The royal family responded two days later in a brief statement released by Buckingham Palace.

“The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan,” the royal family said in a statement obtained by Fox News. “The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately. Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members.”
