After Larry King passed away last month at the age of 87, we reported that he had cut his estranged wife Shawn King, who he had been married to since 1997, out of his will completely. It has since been revealed that King cut Shawn out of his will after she was accused of having a sexual affair with their son’s little league coach.

King first filed for divorce from Shawn back in 2010, and though they reconciled, it came after their son’s little league coach claimed that he had an affair with her.

“Yes I did,” Hector Penate, 31, said when asked if he had an affair with Shawn, who was 50 at the time. The New York Daily News reported that Shawn talked often about wanting to divorce King, telling him, “‘Don’t worry, he’s gonna die soon.'”

Penate claimed that he met Shawn when he began coaching her and King’s son’s little league team back in 2007, and he allege that they began having sex just over two weeks later.

“We got back in the car and we kind of locked eyes and just started kissing,” Penate said of their first encounter.

Penate even said that he went on vacation with Shawn and the sons she shares with King in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and that they had sex in the legendary talk show host’s bed.

“We had sex in Larry’s bed a lot,” he said. “I felt like it was my house.”

King may not have been entirely blameless here, however, as Penate claimed that he had an affair with Shawn’s own sister.

“I really think she had the affair with me because of him and her sister,” he said.

Though King reconciled with Shawn in 2010, he went on to file again in August of 2019, but this divorce had not been finalized at the time of his death. Shawn filed in court this week to contest the will that she was left out of, arguing that King did not actually plan to go through with the divorce by the time he died.

“At the time of Larry’s death there was a divorce proceeding that had been pending for quite some time,” the papers claimed. “Larry was not pushing the divorce and was generally non-responsive and refused to participate in the divorce proceeding. He gave no indication that he actually wanted to pursue a divorce.”

Immediately after King’s death, Shawn spoke out to say that she did not believe that they would actually officially get divorced.

“Larry and I, you know, we never finalized our divorce,” Shawn told Entertainment Tonight.. “In my heart, I didn’t think it was really going to happen and it never did. We were partners in every sense of the way, in business, and in, well, first in our family and then in business. But we’re a close family. You know, family is the most important thing, and God.”
