A newly surfaced video of an epic ice skating routine is going viral this week, bringing joy to millions of people from all over the world.
Elena Radionova is one of the most talented ice skaters in all of the world. In 2016, she took part in All That Skate with a routine that was so incredible that it is still talked about to this day. She took the ice as a “schoolgirl gone bad,” wearing a white blouse, red tie, and a red plaid skirt to match, with her hair pulled back into a ponytail. Her costume was a refreshing change from the elegant costumes we usually associate with ice skating performances.
Elena’s audience was left speechless by the amazing routine that was unfolding right before their eyes. Elena kept her energy up for the entire routine, and by the time it was over, she had brought the house down.
Video of the routine has gone mega-viral, being viewed over 26 million times!
“The best part about this is that she looks like she’s having so much fun performing,” one social media user commented, with another adding, “I refuse to believe that no one fell in love with her when she performed this i just can’t!”
“I just started taking ice skating lessons, I was planning to quit since I keep hurting myself in accident but now I wanna keep going because I know at the end it will be worth all the hard work,” a third user wrote, with a fourth writing, “You thought it was skating, but little did we know it’s a whole dance routine.”
Elena retired from skating back in September, saying that she wanted to refocus on passing on her experience to the “younger generation”.
“Now I am finally ready to say what I have not dared to say for so long,” Elena said. “Perhaps for some it will not be news, but still I want to say it officially. I am ending my sports career. The time has come when you need to open a new page in life.
“I want to express my deep gratitude to my fans and people who supported me,” she added. “Also say thanks to my coaches, choreographers and people who worked with me. Thanks for making me. Without you, I would not have achieved such results. Thanks to my parents who supported and believed in me.”
