Country music star Reba McEntire took to social media this week to reveal that she had her first movie date with her boyfriend, actor Rex Linn.

McEntire took to Instagram on Friday to share photos of the movie date with Linn, who she started dating in 2020.

“AMC offers private screenings…. we took them up on it. First movie date!” McEntire, 65, captioned the photos of her and Linn, 64. The photos show McEntire and Linn wearing masks in the lobby theater and unmasked once they are sitting in the empty theater.

“Looks like y’all had funnn!!! Going to have to try this!” Tanya Tucker wrote in the comments section, to which McEntire replied, “You would love it!”

McEntire revealed her relationship to the world back in October, explaining that she went on her first date with Linn back in January. She described him at the time as “very interesting, very funny [and] very smart.”

“It’s good to have a person to talk to, laugh with, get into subjects about what’s going on,” she said, according to People Magazine. “Discussions about our past, our family, funny stories, him being an actor, me being an actress. And he’s very into my music. I’m very into his career. It’s just great getting to talk to somebody who I find very interesting, very funny, very smart and is interested in me, too.”

Linn is an actor who has appeared in shows like “Young Sheldon,” “Better Call Saul” and “CSI: Miami.” While McEntire admitted that she typically likes to keep her private life private, she added that she could not resist sharing her happiness with Linn with the world.

“I think it’s very important to be selective about when you want to talk about your private life. He’s very special and since we’re having a dating segment for the podcast, I think it’s very appropriate for me to talk about Rex,” she explained. “We’re having a blast and still getting to know each other. I put myself in his shoes and I said, ‘If he was doing this podcast [about dating] and he didn’t mention me, I would be crushed.'”

“Whatever happens in the future, at this point we’re very stable and it’s been a good six months and I look forward to having more things to look forward to,” McEntire added.
