A royal biographer has spoken out to warn that Prince Harry taking “ownership” of his mother Princess Diana’s legacy may not sit well with his older brother, Prince William.

Royal expert Duncan Larcombe told True Royalty TV’s Royal Beat that Harry and his wife Meghan Markle should not expect to be able to use the legacy of the late Princess of Wales for their own projects.

“I think William will be concerned with that…Harry trying to take ownership of the Diana Legacy will be a problem,” Larcombe said, adding that if Harry and Meghan continue charity work in areas that were close to Diana’s heart, it could also jar with William and the rest of the royal family.

“Harry doing mental health, Harry doing conservation, these are the issues that William and Kate want to do – that’s where I predict tensions. Heads Together was also Kate’s idea,” Larcombe explained.

He went on to say that if Harry earned money by using Diana’s name, it could negate the charitable benefit.

“Because there is money involved, it isn’t a charitable thing,” the royal biographer said.

This comes after Harry and Meghan ended 2020 by relaunching their Archewell foundation website by posting an image of both of their mothers to promote it. Harry’s photo showed him sitting on Diana’s shoulders during his childhood.

Alongside the photos, they posted “a letter for 2021,” which began with the line, “I am my mother’s son. And I am our son’s mother. Together we bring you Archewell. We believe in the best of humanity.”

Harry was only 12 years-old. when Diana was tragically killed in a car crash back in 1997.

Harry and Meghan shocked the world last year by stepping down as senior members of the royal family. An insider recently opened up about just how bad the rift between the brothers got.

“William and Harry’s fallout was very real, very ugly and incredibly intense,” the insider told US Weekly. “They’d reached an impasse, there was so much mud under the bridge and a lot of people felt their feud was beyond repair.”

“It’s certainly been a roller-coaster for everyone involved, especially the brothers, who are vowing not to let things get this out of hand in the future and have learned a lot from this difficult experience,” the insider continued, adding that there has been “a lot of rejoicing” from family, including Queen Elizabeth, as the two brothers have started to reconcile.
