Mossimo Giannulli, the fashion designer husband of former “Fuller House” star Lori Loughlin, has reportedly filed an emergency motion to finish his prison sentence at home after spending 56 days in solitary confinement.

Court documents obtained by Closer Weekly show that Giannulli’s attorney William Trach said that Giannulli, 57, was placed in isolated quarantine “in a small cell where he spent 24 hours a day, with narrow exceptions,” for example, “to leave his cell to shower once every three days.”

Trach alleged that it had been planned that Giannulli would quarantine with other minimum-security prisoners, after which he’d be relocated to a minimum-security camp. However, he claimed that Giannulli was instead placed into solitary confinement, even after testing negative for COVID-19 multiple times.

Giannulli was released from solitary confinement on Wednesday and transferred to the minimum-security camp, but Trach argued that “the toll on Giannulli’s mental, physical and emotional well-being has been significant.” The motion argues that Giannulli should be allowed to serve the rest of his sentence from home since the BOP has released other eligible inmates due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Giannulli was sentenced to five months in prison last year on charges related to him allegedly paying $500,000 in bribe money to have his two daughters admitted to the University of Southern California as members of the crew team, even though neither girl had ever rowed before. His wife served two months in prison for the same crime, and was released from prison at the end of December.

“Lori’s homecoming was perfect. Her girls put together a special homecoming with flowers, welcome home decorations and her favorite foods,” a source told Entertainment Tonight after Loughlin’s release. “She was emotionally overwhelmed by how much she missed them and still has to remind herself that if anything good came out of all this it’s their closeness and renewed faith in their tight-knit family.”

“She has told friends that finally being home is the best holiday gift she could ever ask for, and now her focus is counting the days until her husband is home,” the insider continued. “Lori spent her first week [at home] appreciating every minute of settling in and spending time with her girls. Now that she is safe at home and getting back into her routine, she is finding it very difficult to not to worry about Mossimo.”
