Earlier today, we reported that Lori Loughlin’s daughter Olivia Jade Giannulli gave an explosive tell-all interview about the college admissions scandal that has landed both of her parents in prison. Now, a source has come forward a source has come forward to reveal the “huge strain” that occurred in Loughlin’s relationship with both Olivia Jade and her older daughter Isabella after the scandal broke last year.

The source said that while Loughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, were estranged from their daughters for some time, things have since gotten better within the family.

“There was a point in time that they weren’t speaking to their parents at all, but things have gotten to a more peaceful place over time,” the source told Entertainment Tonight. “Lori and Mossimo want their children to live happily and the whole family wants to put this behind them and do their best to move on, grow and succeed together and individually. They are hopeful that people, brands, companies, friends and family don’t judge them or their children as a result of their mistakes.”

The source also talked about how both Olivia Jade and Isabella are doing now that both of their parents are in prison.

“Olivia and Bella have gotten closer through this difficult transition,” the source explained. “The family has all admitted internally, and now publicly — with Olivia speaking out on Red Table Talk — that they were absolutely in the wrong. The whole situation ended up being more horrifying than they could have ever anticipated. They are so remorseful and are determined to make things right.”

Loughlin and Giannulli are both currently in prison on charges related to them allegedly paying $500,000 in bribe money to have their daughters admitted to the University of Southern California as members of the crew team, even though neither girl had ever rowed before. Loughlin is serving a two month sentence, and is due to be released around Christmas, while Giannulli is serving five months behind bars.

The insider added that Loughlin is “hopeful in terms of her own career” in acting, especially after Felicity Huffman scored a role in a single-camera comedy that has a pilot production commitment with ABC. This will be Huffman’s first role since she served a 13 day prison sentence last year for her own role in the college admissions scandal.

“Lori is supportive of Felicity,” the source said. “She feels as though they experienced this ‘together’ in a way and she has Felicity’s back by extension.”

The insider went on to say that Olivia Jade, who was a popular social media influencer before the scandal, is trying to rebuild her brand.

“Olivia is looking forward to modeling again and getting social media deals,” the source said. “She knows she can capitalize on those facets of the industry right now, but also knows she needs to re-prove herself in a huge way.”
