Last week, we reported that former “Fuller House” star Lori Loughlin’s fashion designer husband Mossimo Giannulli had begun his five month prison sentence for his role in the college admissions scandal. This came weeks after Loughlin started her two month sentence for her role in the controversy.

Now, a source has come forward to say that Loughlin and Giannuli’s two daughters – Isabella, 22, and Olivia Jade, 21, – are struggling with the fact that both of their parents are behind bars.

“It’s just a nightmare for them,” the source told People Magazine. “They were very upset when they said goodbye to Lori. But to have both of their parents now in prison at the same time is very upsetting.”

“They are beyond worried,” the source added. “They can’t wait to have their mom home in December, though. They try to focus on this.”

Loughlin and Giannulli were sent to prison on charges related to them paying $500,000 in bribe money to have their two daughters admitted to the University of Southern California as members of the crew team, even though neither girl had ever rowed before. Prosecutors felt that Giannulli deserved a tougher sentence because he was “the more active participant in the scheme,” while Loughlin “took a less active role, but was nonetheless fully complicit.”

During his sentencing hearing in August, Giannulli expressed remorse as he addressed the court.

“I do deeply regret, as [attorney] Sean [Berkowitz] said, the harm that my actions have caused my daughters, my wife, and others. I take full responsibility for my conduct, I’m ready to accept consequences and move forward with the lessons I’ve learned from this experience,” Giannulli said.

Loughlin became emotional as she addressed the court during her own sentence.

“I made an awful decision,” she told the judge. “I went along with a plan to give my daughters an unfair advantage in the college admissions process. In doing so, I ignored my intuition and allowed myself to be swayed from my moral compass.”

“I thought I was acting out of love for my children, but in reality it only undermined and diminished my daughters’ abilities and accomplishments,” Loughlin added.
