New details have just emerged about what life is like in prison for Ghislaine Maxwell, the alleged former madam of the late billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

Daily Mail reported that Maxwell, 58, has two cameras on her in her cell at all times to ensure that she is safe and can’t commit suicide like Epstein did in prison in August of last year. One camera is located on the ceiling of her 9ft by 6ft cell, while the other is 4ft away from her. In addition, Maxwell is woken up every three hours to make sure she is alive.

Maxwell was arrested back in July on charges related to her grooming young girls for sex with Epstein. She has since been remanded to the Metropolitan Detention Center in New York City until her trial, which is scheduled to take place next July, after a judge deemed her to be a significant flight risk because of her immense wealth and international connections.

After three months, she has finally reportedly been given a bra so she can exercise. Brian Basham, a British PR veteran who is trying to help Maxwell get released from prison, said that Maxwell was previously denied one due to fears she could use it to commit suicide.

“The good thing is she now has a bra which is quite important because she’s a very fit woman. She couldn’t really do any aerobic exercise before,” Basham said. “She is on her own floor and has a very small cell but doesn’t have a table to put her computer on.”

“I’m told by the family that she has a camera in the ceiling and another camera that is 4ft away from her and they adjust it when she moves about,” he added. “They were waking her up every three hours to search her and the noise outside her cell with the guards laughing and joking and yelling to each other is very disturbing, so she hasn’t got much sleep. It is bizarre.”

Basham has cited the fact that convicted rapists like Harvey Weinstein and Bill Cosby were allowed bail before their trials as reasons why Maxwell should be released as well.

“If you look at Bill Cosby and Harvey Weinstein you could argue they were an existent threat to women,” he said. “Nobody could argue Ghislaine is an existing threat to women. She patently isn’t. It’s a complete mystery to me as to why Ghislaine should be singled out in this way, and quite wrong too.”
