It has just been revealed that Ghislaine Maxwell was set up with the late billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein by her own father, who wanted him to “take care of her emotionally.”

Daily Mail reported that Maxwell once allegedly confessed to one of his staffers that the late newspaper baron Robert Maxwell set her up with Epstein. Robert allegedly believed that the billionaire could provide her with the emotional support that he felt she needed.

Maxwell was adamant that Epstein was not there to help her financially and was “very clear on that point,” the staffer recalled.

On “Broken: Seeking Justice,” an investigative podcast about the Epstein case, it was alleged that Maxwell met Epstein in 1988, rather than after her father’s death in 1991, as had been previously suggested. This would mean that Maxwell did not in fact befriend Epstein when she was in mourning for her father, who died suspiciously after falling off his yacht in the Canary Islands.

The former Epstein staffer, whose name was not revealed, remembered an “unsettling” to Maxwell’s Manhattan apartment in the early 1990s, when the socialite pulled out eight photo albums of her father’s funeral in Israel. The staffer was “ready to jump off a bridge,” but then Maxwell said something  surprising.

“Out of the blue Ghislaine said her dad actually connected her with Epstein,” the staffer recalled. “The idea was Epstein was someone who could take care of her emotionally, not financially. Ghislaine was very clear on that last point.”

Epstein committed suicide in prison last year while awaiting trial on various sex charges. Maxwell was arrested back in July on charges related to her grooming young girls for sex with Epstein, and sometimes participating in the abuse herself. She has been remanded to prison until her trial, which is scheduled for July of 2021, after a judge ruled that she is a flight risk given her immense wealth and international connections.

Prosecutors recently announced that Maxwell could be hit with even more charges down the line.

“As the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York has stated publicly, the investigation into the conduct of the defendant in this case and other possible co-conspirators of Jeffrey Epstein remains active,” prosecutors wrote in a court filing obtained by Fox News. “The full scope and details of that investigation, however, have not been made public.”

The filing went on to say that prosecutors obtained Maxwell’s 2016 deposition in a defamation lawsuit that her lawyers are fighting to keep from public view, explaining that they used this deposition to charge the 58 year-old British socialite with perjury.
