The singer and talk show host Kelly Clarkson shocked her fans back in June when she filed for divorce from Brandon Blackstock, who she had been married to for seven years. Now, Clarkson is opening up to reveal the surprising songs that have been the soundtrack to her breakup.

On Monday’s episode of “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” Clarkson is set to talk to her fellow “The Voice” judge John Legend. During the interview, she could not help but gush about his new album, “Bigger Love.”

“I love ‘Wild’ actually,” Clarkson said of the album, going on to list “Favorite Place,” “Ooh Laa,” and “Conversations in the Dark” as her other favorite songs.

“Those are kind of sexy songs,” Legend said.

“Dude, I know! That’s what I’m saying. This is a testament of how good this album is,” Clarkson replied. “I started this show saying, ‘Hey, my personal life is kind of like [mimes explosion] and so, I’m just saying, if this album can be so great for someone like me who’s really wanting some Joni Mitchell, Alanis Morisette right now, it’s a great album.”

This comes days after Clarkson opened up about how hard the past few months have been for her after filing for divorce from her husband back in June.

“It’s no secret, my life has been a little bit of a dumpster personally,” Clarkson told “Sunday Today.” “It’s been a little hard the last couple months.”

Thankfully, she added that she has a huge support system that is getting her through this.

“I’ve been talking to friends that have been through divorce, I don’t know how people go through that without having some kind of outlet,” she said. “Because it is the worst thing ever for everyone involved.”

Clarkson has also talked about why she can’t be “truly open” about some aspects of her divorce.

“I am a very open person, but I’m not going to be able to be truly open about this in certain aspects because there’s kids involved,” Clarkson told the Los Angeles Times.

“I think that I will navigate a way in which to be open and honest about it eventually, probably via [‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’], and it’ll probably, I’m assuming, happen organically when someone says something in conversation or something,” Clarkson said. “It definitely wouldn’t be planned.”

“But my children and his older children — there are a lot of little hearts involved in this and while people feel, ‘Oh my gosh, what a loss,’ imagine how it is in the epicenter of the storm,” she added. “It’s a lot to process and deal with, just as a family. So because it’s not just me, I probably won’t go too deep with it.”
