Hollywood star Sylvester Stallone is in mourning right now after the death of his mother Jackie Stallone, who rose to fame as an astrologer and early wrestling promoter. She was 98 years-old.

Fox News reported that Jackie’s death was confirmed by her son Frank, Sylvester’s brother, who said that she died in her sleep.

“This morning my brothers and I lost our mother Jackie Stallone,” Frank wrote. “She was the mother to four children, Tommy, Sylvester, Frankie and my late sister Toni Ann. She was a remarkable woman working out everyday full of spunk and fearless . She died in her sleep as she had wished. It was hard not to like her, she was very eccentric and flamboyant person.”

“She was born on November 29 th 1921 in Washington DC ,she lived through prohibition , the depression and World War II,” he added. “I would talk to her for hours about the 20’s 30’s and 40’s. It was a history lesson. Her mind was as sharp as a razor till the day she died. She never wore a mask a true revolutionary gal . I guess I’m drowning my emotions in tears and to much vino. But when you’ve known someone for 70 yrs it tough and sad.”

“She had seven grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren,” Frank concluded. “My brother Sylvester took care of her like a Queen for all of her life. I will never be able to call my mom again or have her yell at me why I never got married. But we all loved her and her sprit to survive and prevail. I’ll miss you always mommy.”

Born in 1921, Jackie ran away from home when she was just 15 to join the circus.

“My father, who was a wealthy lawyer, wanted me to go to law school, but I wanted to be on stage,” she said in 2005, according to the BBC.

Jackie was a trapeze artist for two years before landing a gig as a chorus girl on Broadway. She was a longtime advocate for women’s fitness, opening a female-only gym in the 1950s, called Barbella’s. In the late 1980s, Jackie appeared on the wrestling program GLOW: Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling, which helped women’s wrestling become mainstream on television.

While Sylvester found fame in Hollywood, Jackie kept a low-profile until the 1990s, when she became a household name through her life-long passion for astrology. She penned the book “Star Power: An Astrological Guide to Supersuccess” in 1989, and she made regular television appearances revolving around astrology from then on.

Jackie ran her own psychic hotline for a few years and even claimed to have invented “rumpology,” which is the art of reading people’s futures by reading the lines and crevices of their buttocks.

Jackie stayed active into her 90s, continuing to lift weight and work out on trapeze. She defied the aging process by getting many plastic surgery procedures, which she came to regret.

“Actually I’ve got too much,” she said in 2013. “I look like I’ve got a mouthful of nuts… I feel I look like a chipmunk.”

Jackie is survived by her husband Devine, her sons Sylvester and Frank and six grandchildren.
