It’s been one month since the actress Kelly Preston passed away at the age of 57 after a private battle with breast cancer. Now, new details about her death have been revealed, as her death certificate has been released.
Preston, who was known for starring in movies like Jerry Maguire and Twins, died after a two year battle with breast cancer that she and her husband John Travolta had kept secret from fans. Her death certificate, which was obtained by Us Weekly, revealed that she died at her and Travolta’s home in Clearwater, Florida, at 11:46 a.m. on July 12.
After Preston’s passing, her body was transferred to a funeral home before being cremated at the Brooksville Crematory in Brooksville, Florida.
Fans were stunned when Preston’s death was announced by Travolta one day after her passing.
“It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that my beautiful wife Kelly has lost her two-year battle with breast cancer,” Travolta wrote on Instagram. “She fought a courageous fight with the love and support of so many. ”
“My family and I will forever be grateful to her doctors and nurses at MD Anderson Cancer Center, all the medical centers that have helped, as well as her many friends and loved ones who have been by her side,” he added. “Kelly’s love and life will always be remembered. I will be taking some time to be there for my children who have lost their mother, so forgive me in advance if you don’t hear from us for a while. But please know that I will feel your outpouring of love in the weeks and months ahead as we heal. All my love, JT.”
That same day, Travolta and Preston’s daughter Ella took to Instagram as well to pay tribute to her “courageous, strong, beautiful and loving” mom
“Thank you for being there for me no matter what. Thank you for your love. Thank you for your help and thank you for making this world a better place,” Ella wrote. “You have made life so beautiful and I know you will continue to do so always. I love you so much mama.”
