Hollywood star Dax Shepard was just rushed to the hospital for surgery after he was involved in a serious motorcycle crash.

On Monday’s episode of his “Armchair Expert” podcast, Shepard revealed that he collided with other vehicles during a recent motorcycle ride on a race track, and that he will need surgery.

“I was passing six guys on Sonoma Raceway on a motorcycle and I was braking very, very hard — hard enough that the back wheel was off the ground for a good 100 yards,” Shepard recalled. “I was totally to blame. I thought I would be able to slide in between, but someone turned in and I was already under full brake and I couldn’t go anywhere.”

Shepard, 45, went on to say that he “went over the handlebars” after he nicked the bumper of another vehicle and “landed pretty hard.” He also said that the accident was a “little demoralizing” because it was his first time at that race track.

The former “Parenthood” star said that he was “thoroughly yelled at” by the track employees but he was “too injured to object.”

Despite the crash, Shepard still went back to the “two sessions” after icing his shoulder and hand. However, he still cut his ride short, as his injuries became “too painful by the end.”

Shepard then spent seven hours at the hospital, where he found out he had broken a significant amount of bones.

“The final tally was four broken ribs, the clavicle’s broken in three places, and I need surgery,” he said.

Though Shepard said that he has regrets over “actively doing something dangerous,” he added that he wasn’t quite ready to give up his motorcycles forever.

“I might be willing to quit for the remainder of 2020,” he said.

Shepard took to Instagram on Wednesday to post photos of his bruises.

“Thank you Armcherries for all the well wishes and concern,” he wrote in the caption. “I’m in one piece and spirits are high 🙂 Sorry for causing concern.”

His wife, actress Kristen Bell, could be seen in the background looking disappointed.

“Lol Bell in the background,” commented comedian Whitney Cummings.

Bell replied, “Just politely shaking my head at his nonsense…”
