Earlier this week, we reported that a Florida Burger King employee had been murdered in a fatal shooting over a drive-thru delay. Now, the female accomplice of the gunman has been arrested for her role in the murder of Desmond Joshua.

Fox News reported that Ashley Mason, 31, was arrested days after her husband, Kelvis Rodríguez Tormes, was taken into custody for shooting Joshua, 22, on August 1. The shooting occurred after an argument between Joshua, the manager of the Burger King, and a woman who has since been identified as Mason.

Mason allegedly lost her temper over the lengthy wait time at the fast-food restaurant’s drive-thru, where she had ordered a meal costing $33.11. The affidavit stated that after Mason became irate and confrontational, she was refunded her money and ordered to leave, at which time she “threatened to bring her ‘man’ to the restaurant.”

Mason was captured on security cameras leaving the Burger King parking lot, only to return minutes later with her husband, Rodríguez Tormes.

Upon arriving at the Burger King, Rodríguez Tormes immediately confronted Joshua, telling him that he “demanded to fight” him. They then moved out to the parking lot, where Rodríguez Tormes “placed [Joshua] into a headlock and began to choke him,” according to the affidavit.

At one point during the fight, Rodríguez Tormes could be heard saying, “Bust him if he touches me.” Witnesses were then finally able to break up the fight.

Rodríguez Tormes told police that it was then, as he was getting back into his truck, that he allegedly saw the younger man “jump over his wife’s black Honda Accord and walk toward his closed driver’s door, which still had the window up.”

He opened the window and said, “You got two seconds before I shoot you,” opening fire on Joshua moments later. Joshua was rushed to the hospital with a single gunshot wound to the chest, but the 22 year-old sadly could not be saved.

Witnesses at the scene said that they saw Mason take her husband’s gun and point it at restaurant employees before she handed it over to Rodríguez Tormes. She was also seen trying to hit Joshua as she got into her car.

Rodríguez Tormes has been hit with charges of first-degree murder, destruction of evidence and possession of a firearm by a felon. After Mason’s arrest, she was charged with principal of first-degree murder and aggravated assault with a firearm.
