The bad news has just kept on coming for daytime talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, as it’s now being reported that ratings for her show have plummeted to an all-time low amidst drama behind the scenes.

The Wrap reported that ratings for the show decreased to an all-time low last month, hitting a 1.0 Live + Same Day household rating for the week ending July 26. This represented a 9% drop from the previous week and a steep -29% fall from the same period in summer 2019.

This came after weeks of reports claiming that there is a toxic workplace environment on the set of the show. Reports have been coming in alleging that DeGeneres has “had enough” and wants to quit after dozens of current and former employees came forward to accuse her of turning a blind eye to racism, intimidation, and even sexual misconduct on the set of her show.

“She feels she can’t go on and the only way to recover her personal brand from this is to shut down the show,” an insider at Telepictures told Daily Mail. “The truth is she knew what was going on, it’s her show. The buck stops with her. She can blame every executive under the sun – but Ellen is ultimately the one to blame.”

“Inside Telepictures we’ve had enough of her. She is a phony who does not practice what she preaches,” the source added. “The behavior of her show executives has been appalling, but [Ellen] is no better. In fact, she is the worst. It’s outrageous that she is trying to pretend that this is all a shock to her. The fish rots from the head, and Ellen is the head.”

The insider went on to claim that DeGeneres “hates coming to work” and “struggles to be nice to people and has utter contempt for her audience.”

“She has been phoning it in for so long, and only staying for the money and celebrity it affords her,” the source said. “We’ve dealt with her BS for so many years, she’s not innocent at all, she’s not nice and the show is not filled with happiness.”
