Over the past few weeks, Ellen Degeneres has found herself embroiled in scandal after scandal as she’s been accused of turning a blind eye to racism, intimidation, and sexual misconduct on the set of her talk show. Now, her older brother Vance is speaking out to defend her.

Vance DeGeneres, 65, took to social media to say that his 62 year-old sister is being “viciously attacked” over claims of a toxic workplace on her set, allegations that he alleges are “all bulls***.”

“If you think Ellen would knowingly allow bullying or racism on her show, you don’t know my sister,” he tweeted. “She has been and continues to be a bright light in a dark world. She’s one of the kindest, most generous people you’ll ever meet. And one of the funniest.”

Vance, who worked as a writer on DeGeneres’ sitcom in the 1990s, doubled down on this defense in a Facebook post.

“Ok, I need to say something,” Vance wrote. “My sister is being viciously attacked. And let me assure you – it is all bullshit. I put up a simple statement yesterday that said ‘I stand by Ellen.’ Only a handful of my Facebook ‘friends’ responded to it.”

“If you don’t support Ellen, then you don’t support me, so please unfriend me. I’m sick and tired of my sister being attacked,” he added. “She always has – and always will – stand against bullying of any kind. She’s a smart, strong woman who has made a positive difference in the world. And to my friends who did respond with support for Ellen and my family, thank you so much. It means a lot.”

Dozens of current and former staffers on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” have come forward in the past few weeks to accuse the host of allowing racism, intimidation, and sexual misconduct to run rampant on her set. A few days ago, one source with Telepictures said that DeGeneres has “had enough” and is considering quitting her show altogether.

“She feels she can’t go on and the only way to recover her personal brand from this is to shut down the show,” the insider told Daily Mail. “The truth is she knew what was going on, it’s her show. The buck stops with her. She can blame every executive under the sun – but Ellen is ultimately the one to blame.”

“Inside Telepictures we’ve had enough of her. She is a phony who does not practice what she preaches,” the source added. “The behavior of her show executives has been appalling, but [Ellen] is no better. In fact, she is the worst. It’s outrageous that she is trying to pretend that this is all a shock to her. The fish rots from the head, and Ellen is the head.”
