Earlier today, we reported that longtime host Tom Bergeron had been fired by “Dancing With The Stars” and replaced by supermodel Tyra Banks. Now, Bergeron has broken his silence about the situation, and it’s clear he’s dealing with it with his signature sense of humor.
“I guess I won’t be getting back my monogrammed towels,” Bergeron tweeted, joking about the fact that he and Banks share the same initials.

Bergeron shocked his fans on Monday night when he revealed he had been fired from his gig on “Dancing With The Stars” despite the fact that he had hosted it since it premiered in 2005.
“Just informed @DancingABC will be continuing without me. It’s been an incredible 15 year run and the most unexpected gift of my career,” he wrote. “I’m grateful for that and for the lifelong friendships made.”
“That said, now what am I supposed to do with all of these glitter masks?” Bergeron added, showing that he had maintained his sense of humor even through his initial shock at being let go.

Banks also celebrated being the first black female host of “DWTS.”
“I like breaking these doors down so that we don’t have any more firsts, but it’s nice to be first so that you can open that door and let so many people in after you,” the former supermodel continued. “I’m used to the model [firsts], but today’s the first time I’m hearing this first Dancing with the Stars black woman, I never even thought of that.”
