Days after the FBI arrested Ghislaine Maxwell, the former madam of Jeffrey Epstein, in New Hampshire, reports are coming in indicating that the days she then spent in the local jail were anything but pleasant for her.

After being arrested last Thursday, Maxwell spent a few days at the Merrimack County Jail before she was transferred to New York City.

At the New Hampshire jail, inmates reportedly made no secret of their lack of respect for Maxwell, who stands accused of grooming young girls for sex with the late billionaire pedophile Epstein.

“The general opinion of her at Merrimack was that she’s a snooty rich b****. Nobody wanted anything to do with her,” an insider told The Sun

“Inmates knew who she was. It’s like high school – everyone gossips – but it doesn’t mean she’s a celebrity. She was a depressed loner. Those involved in sex crimes against children are generally hated and have to group together so they don’t get jumped.”

The 58 year-old British socialite was on suicide watch during her time in the Merrimack County Jail before she was transferred to Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) at 4:30am on Monday.

Guards watched Maxwell around the clock to make sure nothing happened to her, a crucial move after Epstein killed himself in prison last August.

The insider went on to give a sense of what life in the county jail would have been like for Maxwell, who is used to a wealthy and extravagant lifestyle.

“It’s not the greatest experience being in Merrimack and there are constant arguments with guards about face masks, but there are perks,” the source said.

“The food isn’t too bad, spaghetti is a popular dish and they have the option of M&M pancakes on Sundays, while inmates are also allowed movie nights.”

It had previously been speculated that Maxwell was having a difficult time dealing with her arrest. Epstein victim Virginia Roberts Giuffre had told reporters that during Maxwell’s court hearing last week, she could hear a “very loud British woman screaming ‘why is this happening and how could this happen?'”

She went on to add that Prince Andrew “should be panicking” because “Ghislaine doesn’t really care about anyone else but Ghislaine.”

Giuffre has long accused Andrew of having sex with her on three occasions, including when she was an underage 17 year-old. The royal has long denied the allegations.

Maxwell might want to make herself comfortable in the Brooklyn prison where she is now being housed, as prosecutors are arguing that she should be held without bond because her international connections make her a flight risk.

Her next court appearance is scheduled to take place on Friday.
