Saul Fletcher, a reported “friend” of Hollywood star Brad Pitt, was just found dead in an apparent murder-suicide after killing the mother of his daughter.

Daily Mail reported that the 52 year-old British artist and photographer was found dead in Berlin, Germany after his daughter called police to say that he had confessed to murdering her mother. Fletcher was known to be a friend of Pitt’s, as they were just seen together last year at the 2019 Venice Biennale art exhibition.

When police arrived at the apartment after being called by Fletcher’s daughter, they found a 53 year-old woman dead with what appeared to be stab wounds. Fletcher was not in the apartment when police got there, as he had already fled the scene in his Porsche 911. He was found dead hours later at a garden plot he owned near Rochowsee lake.

After teaching himself photography, Fletcher spent two decades working as a successful photographer in Berlin. He was best known for his dark photo collages and primal mixed-media work.

“I use whatever I have to hand, trying to create something, trying to make something good out of something bad,” Fletcher told the Financial Times in 2018.

Fletcher’s biography on ArtSpace states that his work has been exhibited at London’s Courtaud Gallery, the Atlanta Contemporary Art Center, the Hessel Museum of Art in Annandale-on-Hudson, the Rose Art Museum at Brandeis University, MUMOK in Vienna, Tate Modern in London, and the Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh, among others.

This murder-suicide will undoubtedly hit Pitt hard, as it came just as he was focusing on bettering himself for his family. Much of his focus has been on rebuilding a relationship with his ex Angelina Jolie so that they could better co-parent their six children together.

“Brad’s kids are the most important thing to him. He tells his friends he learns so much about life from his own children,” a source recently told ET Online. “He and Angie have been getting along so much better since the custody rules have been worked out. They have come so far.”

Pitt has yet to break his silence about Fletcher’s apparent murder-suicide.
