Earlier this month, we reported that country music star Kacey Musgraves had filed for divorce from her musician husband Ruston Kelly. Now, it appears that their divorce is an amicable one, as Musgraves has publicly offered her support to Kelly after he released new music.

On Saturday, Musgraves took to Twitter to promote Kelly’s latest song.

Musgraves and Kelly announced that they were divorcing earlier in July after getting married back in 2017.

“With heavy but hopeful hearts we wanted to put our own thoughts into the air about what’s happening,” they said in a statement, according to Fox News. “These kinds of announcements are always met with scrutiny and speculation and we want to stop that before it even starts. We believe that we were put into each other’s lives for a divine reason and have both changed each other infinitely for the better.”

“The love we have for each other goes far beyond the relationship we’ve shared as husband and wife,” they added. “It’s a soul connection that can never be erased.”

“We’ve made this painful decision together — a healthy decision that comes after a very long period of trying the best we can. It simply just didn’t work,” the statement continued. “Though we are parting ways in marriage, we will remain true friends for the rest of our lives. We hold no blame, anger, or contempt for each other and we ask for privacy and positive wishes for us both as we learn how to navigate through this.”

It appears that the former couple is standing by their pledge to “remain true friends” given the fact that Musgraves is promoting Kelly’s music on her social media. He even responded to her post, commenting, “U convinced me to.”

Musgraves and Kelly have collaborated on music in the past, appearing together on the song “To June This Morning” from the album “Johnny Cash: Forever Words.” Musgraves also lent her voice to background vocals on Kelly’s 2018 full-length debut album, “Dying Star.”

In addition, Kelly is preparing to release his new album “Shape & Destroy” on August 2, and it’s expected that the album will include background vocals from Musgraves.
