It has just been revealed that Hollywood star Brad Pitt was ahead of his time when it came to face masks, as a clip from last year has just resurfaced in which he voices his support for them.

Daily Mail reported that while promoting his movie Ad Astra last September in Tokyo, Japan, Pitt said it was “so considerate” of people to wear face masks there.

“When I first came here and I saw all the people in the faces masks at the airport, I thought, “That’s a bit paranoid,” Pitt admitted.

“Then I came to understand it’s when you have a cold and protecting others and I think that’s so considerate.”

“I don’t know why the rest of the world…I don’t know why we don’t do that,” he added.

Pitt had no idea that less than a year later, face masks would become the norm in the United States amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

This comes days after Pitt’s ex-wife Jennifer Aniston urged her 34 million followers to wear face masks in an Instagram post.

“I understand masks are inconvenient and uncomfortable,” Aniston wrote on Tuesday.

“But don’t you feel that it’s worse that businesses are shutting down… jobs are being lost… health care workers are hitting absolute exhaustion. And so many lives have been taken by this virus because we aren’t doing enough.”

“I really do believe in the basic goodness of people so I know we can all do this,” she added.

“BUT still, there are many people in our country refusing to take the necessary steps to flatten the curve, and keep each other safe. People seem worried about their ‘rights being taken away’ by being asked to wear a mask. This simple and effective recommendation is being politicized at the expense of peoples’ lives. And it really shouldn’t be a debate.”

“If you care about human life, please… just #wearadamnmask 😷 and encourage those around you to do the same,” Aniston concluded.

Science Daily has reported that wearing a face mask has proven to be “the most effective means to prevent inter-human transmission.”

This comes as the coronavirus pandemic continues to reek havoc on the entire globe, as it has killed hundreds of thousands of people.
