It’s been nearly four years since Angelina Jolie shocked the world by filing for divorce from her fellow Hollywood A-list star Brad Pitt, yet their divorce has still not officially been finalized. Now, an insider is speaking out to reveal how the coronavirus pandemic has brought the couple’s divorce proceedings to a standstill, for now.

“Brad is seeing the kids but everything involved in their process of resolving legal matters between Angelina and Brad, including the courts, is slowed down because of COVID,” the insider told Us Weekly. “With the pandemic, it has been hard for everyone, including them. The legal process is slowed because of that. They are continuing regular visits but there has not been a lot of progress in terms of resolving anything.”

Pitt and Jolie began dating after meeting on the set of their 2005 hit movie Mr. And Mrs. Smith, but they did not get married until nine years later in 2014. Just two years after that, Jolie filed for divorce after having six children with Pitt: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Knox and Vivienne.

Though the custody battle got nasty at times, it appears that things are going a lot better for the family now, as Pitt has been spotted visiting Jolie’s Los Angeles mansion many times in recent weeks.

“It’s taken them a long time, with a lot of family therapy, to get to this point,” the source said. “The younger kids go back and forth between their houses, and Brad loves spending as much time with them as possible. He seems much happier.”

This comes after another source revealed that Pitt and Jolie have been working hard in family therapy to get to this point so that they could be better coparents together.

“They definitely needed help figuring out all the child-custody issues and how Brad could be a dad again,” a source told People. “Since the kids are older now, they are no longer dealing with separation issues from Angie.”

“It’s taken them a long time, with a lot of family therapy, to get to this point,” the source continued, adding that there is no longer as much tension between the pair,” the insider continued. “The younger kids go back and forth between their houses, and Brad loves spending as much time with them as possible. He seems much happier.”
