Outrage After It’s Revealed Man Accused of Slugging 92 Year-Old NYC Woman Has Been Arrested Over 100 Times
Yesterday, we reported that an arrest had been made after a video went viral showing a man punching a 92 year-old woman in the head and knocking her to the ground in New York City in what appears to have been a random attack. Now, disturbing new information about the attacker has come to life, as it’s been revealed he has been arrested over 100 times.
The New York Post reported that convicted sex offender Rashid Brimmage, 31, was arrested this week for the attack on the elderly woman who only gave her first name as Geraldine. The punch sent her flying to the ground and caused her to hit her head on a fire hydrant.

Geraldine, a retired teacher who was on her way to the drug store at the time of the assault, is thankfully doing alright physical. She said that mentally, however, is a different story.
“Mostly I’m shaken. My head still hurts where it was bleeding, where I hit the hydrant — or where he hit me, I don’t know,” explained Geraldine. “Mainly it’s psychological — just the fear of going out on the street.”
“This damned guy put me in a state where I’m fearful to walk the streets alone,” Geraldine added. So my super’s trying to find somebody who will walk me to a park nearby or to the supermarket, that kind of thing. So that’s the problem.”
Public outrage over this incident has only grown after it was revealed that Brimmage has been arrested a staggering 103 times since 2005 for petty crimes and sex offenses. After being convicted of sexual misconduct in 2012, he went on to be arrested for two sex offenses in 2014.
Other arrests of Brimmage’s include incidents of him exposing and fondling himself in public, and grabbing a woman’s behind at a deli. When he attacked Geraldine, Brimmage had three open criminal cases open against him in New York City, according to court papers.
Charges that Brimmage has been hit with this year alone include assault, harassment, trespassing, and possession of a controlled substance. He has now been hit with another assault charge for the attack on Geraldine.
