Two royal authors are claiming that Meghan Markle “embarrassed” Prince Harry by revealing her pregnancy on the wedding day of his cousin Princess Eugenie, who was “furious” over this “huge social gaffe.”

Daily Mail reported that Meghan revealed her pregnancy to the world when celebrating Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s wedding with the rest of the royals on 12 October 2018. However, in their explosive new book “Royals At War,” investigative journalists Dylan Howard and Andy Tillett allege that this did not go over well with the royal family.

“Meghan put her foot in it when she decided that it would be the ideal moment to announce that she and Harry were expecting their first child,” they wrote. “This was a huge social gaffe, even if you were not a royal – stealing the limelight from Eugenie, who was furious, as was her mother, Sarah.”

They added that Harry was “embarrassed” by Meghan’s announcement.

Meghan and Harry had received backlash from royal fans at the time for the timing of their announcement as well.

“If Harry and Meghan did actually tell the royal family about their baby at Eugenie’s wedding on Friday, that’s pretty shady,” one social media user commented, with another adding, “Thunder stealer.”

“It may be happy news but i think its terrible timing to break the news at Eugenie’s wedding,” a third social media user commented. “It was her day & she had already bumped dates, announcements herself due to Harrys engagement & wedding. Could they not have told family later privately.

Rumors of tensions over this announcement were fueled when Eugenie’s mother Sarah Ferguson tweeted out a photo of her royal wedding outfit at the exact moment that Kensington Palace announced Meghan’s pregnancy. She proceeded to post three more messages about how “proud” she was of her daughter and new son-in-law, never making any mention of Meghan or her pregnancy.

Meghan went on to give birth to a son, Archie Harrison Windsor-Mountbatten, in May of 2019. Months later, Meghan and Harry shocked the world by stepping down as senior members of the British royal family. They then briefly moved to Canada before moving to Meghan’s hometown of Los Angeles, California, where they remain to this day.
