It has just been announced that in the wake of the death of George Floyd, who died in police custody in Minneapolis, Minnesota two weeks ago, the television shows “Live PD” and “Cops” have been pulled from television.

A&E told Variety that the network made the decision not to air new episodes of “Live PD” this Friday and Saturday, and the outlet went on to report that the Paramount Network has decided to postpone the Season 33 premiere of “Cops,” which was initially scheduled for Monday.

“Out of respect for the families of George Floyd and others who have lost their lives, in consultation with the departments we follow, and in consideration for the safety of all involved, we have made the decision not to broadcast ‘Live PD’ this weekend,” A&E said in a statement.

Though Paramount has not released a statement about the situation, “Cops” seems to have been removed from its schedule and is now replaced with “Ghostbusters” in the 10 p.m. time slot for Monday.

“Cops” aired on FOX for 25 years, but it moved to the Spike TV network in 2013, a network that has since been rebranded as the Paramount Network.

Any mention of “Cops” has been scrapped from the Paramount Network’s website, indicating that the network has no plans to air it again in the future.

“Live PD” has been airing on A&E since 2016, and it was to have it’s 300th episode on Saturday before it was pulled from TV.

It has been an enormous hit for A&E since it began airing, but it remains to be seen whether the network will ever show it again.

This decision was made after the death of Floyd, who died in police custody last week after an officer was filmed kneeling on his neck.

His death has caused mass outrage all over the nation, with protests popping up all over the place since his passing.

One of the officers who was involved in his death has since been charged with second degree murder, while the three others involved in the detainment of Floyd facing other charges.

Despite the fact that the officers involved have been arrested, anti-police sentiments remain at an all-time high across the U.S.
