Hollywood star Liam Neeson is devastated right now after his beloved mother passed away the day before his birthday. She was 94 years-old.

A representative for Neeson confirmed to Fox News that his mother Kitty died on Saturday, one day before the Taken actor turned 68.

Her death has since been mentioned on a  live-streamed mass shared on Facebook by the Ballymena Kirkinriola Parish.

“Let us pray for the faithful departed. We pray for those that died recently… [including] Kitty Neeson,” the priest said during the service. “Her funeral arrangements will be later.”

Councillor Peter Johnston, Mayor of Mid and East Antrim Borough Council, also released a statement about Kitty’s death to the local Ballymena, Ireland outlet Ballymena Daily.

“Very sorry to hear this news. As Mayor of Mid and East Antrim, I will be raising this at full council on Tuesday where we will be holding a minute’s silence,” he said. “Rest in Peace, Kitty.”

The publication added that Kitty’s community remembers “her working as a dinner lady at St. Louis School.”

No cause of death for Kitty has been revealed at this time.

“He’s probably on a plane now,” one local man who knows the family said of Neeson, according to the Belfast Telegraph.

“He really loved her, absolutely adored her.”

In a 2016 interview, Neeson said of Kitty, “She gets annoyed if she can’t walk to Mass on Sunday morning, and I just think, ‘Mum, you’re 90. It’s OK! God will forgive you.'”

Back in 1998, Kitty travelled to Dublin to accept an award on her son’s behalf.

“He was such a quiet lad, I never knew it would turn out like this,” she said at the time.

“I love people. I love talking. Not like Liam. He got his quiet ways from his father.”

She went on to add that she was never sure what career Neeson would choose for himself.

“He went to university but that didn’t suit him,” she said. “I didn’t know much about it when he started acting. All I know is that he works very hard.”

It is expected that Kitty’s funeral will be put together by local undertaker James Henry.

“I haven’t been speaking to any of the family or anything but I am aware of her death, in my professional capacity I’m a funeral director,” Henry said.

“It’s very sad, she had been unwell for a while.”
