Actor Joe Pantoliano, best known for his work on the television show “The Sopranos,” was hit by a car on Friday while out for a walk in Connecticut.

Pantoliano’s wife Nancy told TMZ that he had been walking with their family when a Porsche was allegedly T-boned by another vehicle and sent flying across the road, where the actor was walking. She said that he was sent airborne a few feet, crashing headfirst into a wooden fence. Pantoliano was left with a major gash on his head as well as injuries to his left leg and shoulder.

Pantoliano, who is also known for playing Captain Howard in the popular “Bad Boys” film series, was rushed to the local hospital after he was hit. On the HBO show “The Sopranos, Pantoliano played mobster Ralph Cifaretto, who infamously hit Tony Soprano’s sister Janice with “shrapnel” when clippinghis toenails. He has appeared in other famous movies like The Matrix and Memento as well, finding great success as a character actor.

Pantoliano had taken to Instagram hours earlier to post a video showing lush greenery with a rainbow shining overhead. His family said that this was captured right before the actor left for his fateful walk.

Pantoliano’s wife is understandably shaken by the experience, but she thinks he is going to pull through. Fans have been sending in prayers for him from all over the world since news of his accident broke.
