Prince Harry just released a video in which he marked what would have been the start of the Invictus Games by saying that life has “changed dramatically” amidst the coronavirus pandemic. This comes after it was revealed that Harry and his wife Meghan Markle have been isolating at Hollywood filmmaker and actor Tyler Perry’s $18 million mansion in an exclusive area of Beverly Hills, California.

Daily Mail reported that the 2020 Invictus Games were set to be held in Hague before they were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The games involve competitions for current and former wounded, injured or sick servicemen and women from more than 20 countries all over the world.

“As we commemorate VE Day this weekend and pay tribute to the service and sacrifice of the entire Second World War generation, we should have also been gathering together in the Netherlands to kickstart the Invictus Games 2020 in The Hague,” Harry said. “Life has changed dramatically for all of us since I was last in The Hague, but the IG 2020 team has done an incredible job to adapt so quickly to the situation, and they are busy putting plans in place for next year.”

“The new dates will be shared with you very soon. I hope that all of those in the Invictus family are coping well and supporting each other through this challenging time,” he continued.

The royal went on to say that he has heard “amazing” stories of families coming together over online platforms, but added that people should “look out for those that have gone quiet, or that are no longer visible on the chat sites.”

“You guys are the best at this, so I have no doubt that you’re all rallying around and supporting one another,” Harry said. “Although we can’t be together in person, I’m really happy that there are plenty of virtual activities planned for this week, and I encourage you all to get involved if you can, because you never know, it might be fun and a change from the norm. Throughout this week, we will be seeing and hearing from many Invictus competitors, their experience and resilience in dealing with mental health challenges is something we could all learn lessons from.”

This comes after it was reported that Harry has spent the last few weeks living with his wife Meghan and their son Archie in the $18 million ultra-luxury Beverly Hills mansion of Hollywood tycoon Tyler Perry. Located in the exclusive Beverly Ridge Estates guard-gated community, the eight-bedroom, 12-bathroom Tuscan-style villa sits on 22 acres on the top of a hill.

The deal for Harry and Meghan to stay at the lavish home was reportedly set up by Oprah Winfrey herself, and they have been trying to keep their location under wraps in recent weeks.

“Meghan and Harry have been extremely cautious to keep their base in LA under wraps,” a source close to them said. “Their team helped them choose the location for their transition to Los Angeles wisely. Beverly Ridge has its own guarded gate and Tyler’s property has a gate of its own which is watched by their security team.

“Beverly Ridge is an excellent place to keep out of view. The neighbors are mostly old money and mega rich business types rather than show business gossips,” the insider continued. “It goes without saying that the location is stunning – just one of the most beautiful and desirable areas in L.A.”
