Prince Andrew just got some bad news as it was revealed that the British royal family has “no plans to review” his retirement from public life months after his disastrous interview about his relationship with the late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

Daily Mail reported that Andrew stepped back from public life “for the foreseeable future” after his trainwreck interview with reporter Emily Maitlis last year. Sources have since branded him a “busted flush” with a “toxic” presence, according to The Sunday Times.

“The prince hoped his status change would be temporary, but those hopes have disappeared,” a source said.

Andrew had given the now-infamous interview back in November to try and “set the record straight” after he was accused of having sex with 17-year-old Virginia Roberts three times, an allegation that he strongly denied. Unfortunately for him, the interview backfired and Andrew ended up being slammed for showing a lack of remorse for his friendship with Epstein.

Two months ago, Andrew hired PR expert Mark Gallagher, who has been nicknamed “the backroom fixer,” to help him deal with the fallout from the scandal. Gallagher is best known for helping VIPs falsely accused of pedophilia by fantasist Carl Beech back in 2014.

Andrew found himself in hot water once again earlier this month after £355,297 paid to his private secretary was branded an “unauthorized trustee benefit.” Amanda Thirsk, the Duke of York’s long-standing private secretary who resigned immediately after his disastrous interview, was given the money as payment for her work as trustee of the Prince Andrew Charitable Trust (PACT).

On top of all that, Andrew is currently embroiled in a dispute alongside his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson over a £6million debt for their £18million ski chalet in Verbier, Switzerland. On Sunday, the Queen agreed to pay the debt after a French socialite threatened to drag the case through the courts.

Juan Alessi, a longtime butler of Epstein’s also spoke out this week to say that Andrew may have “something to hide.”

“He should. Maybe he has something to hide,” Alessi told the Mirror. “I don’t know. I don’t know what happened beyond that.”

Andrew himself has yet to comment on any of this.
