Casey Anthony, who infamously was found not guilty of murdering her two year-old daughter Caylee, reemerged this week to plead guilty to an entirely different crime altogether: speeding.

Daily Mail reported that Anthony, who many still believe did in fact murder her daughter in 2008, was charged with speeding in Palm Beach County, Florida. The 34 year-old reportedly pled guilty and was rewarded for her honesty with a $256 ticket, which she paid on time.

Court documents show that Anthony was driving her lightning blue 2016 Ford Escape at around 9:30am on January 25 when she was caught going 69 mph in a 50 mph-zone. At the time, Anthony was driving on Southern Boulevard in West Palm Beach, not far from the local county jail. She was caught by Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Deputy David Varone using laser-powered radar.

The court documents go on to say that Anthony pleaded guilty in writing and sent a check to pay for her fine. Police have refused to comment any further on the situation.

Anthony moved to West Palm Beach, not far from President Donald Trump’s Palm Beach residence of Mar-a-Lago, right after an Orlando jury found her not guilty of killing her daughter. She reportedly moved in with Pat McKenna, the private investigator who worked on her defense team and helped clear O.J. Simpson of double murder in his 1995 case. Anthony took a job working in McKenna’s and even tried to launch a career as a photographer.

Though she has spent years avoiding the spotlight, Anthony has been spotted out in public more as of late at bars, restaurants, gyms, and protests against Trump.

This case was not the first time Anthony found herself in hot water over a traffic ticket. Back in November of 2018, she was caught going through a stop sign without stopping in the small town of Lake Clarke Shores, which is also located in Palm Beach County. She initially pleaded guilty to this ticket but then switched to pleading no contest. She ended up having to attend on-line driving school and pay a $264-fine when the traffic magistrate withheld adjudication, a move that allowed her to keep all the points on her license.

Anthony became a household name when her daughter Caylee was reported missing by her grandmother in 2008. The child was found dead four months later, and police arrested Anthony after a cadaver detected Caylee’s scent in the trunk of her car. She remained in jail for the next two years awaiting trial, which ended up turning into a circus watched by millions of people. The nation was stunned when a jury found Anthony not guilty, as many Americans believed that she killed her daughter.
