Comedian Tim Allen just made light of the coronavirus social distancing era by posting an old joke from his hit television sitcom “Home Improvement.”

Fox News reported that the 66 year-old legend took to social media to post an image of the character Wilson from the beloved show, which ran from 1991-1999. Wilson, who was played by the late actor Richard Hindman, was the wise neighbor of Allen’s character of Tim “The Tool Man” Taylor. Throughout the entirety of the series, Wilson never showed the bottom of his face, that is until the final episode when he finally blew a kiss to the audience.

Allen posted an image of Wilson along with the caption, “Wilson social distancing champion 1991-1999.”

“My dear old friend,” Allen tweeted alongside the photo.

The tweet quickly went viral, with fans pointing out that Wilson would likely be thriving under the social distancing guidelines that aim to slow the spread of COVID-19.

This comes weeks after Allen opened up about being “drugs- and alcohol-free for about 22 years” during an interview with Kelly Clarkson.

“Because I had money and I was a star, people help, they enable you to get by,” Allen explained. “The program I practice, it’s all about as soon as you get it, you gotta give it away. A kid can’t hold on to all these toys, and every time he sees a new toy, and he goes, ‘Mine,’ you gotta drop one of those before you can grab another one.”

He went on to add, “it doesn’t happen overnight. It’s a day-to-day thing.”

Allen went on to talk about some fan interactions he’s had from “Home Improvement,” saying that fans still approach him asking him to do his signature grunt.

“It’s grunt for me,” recalled Allen. “Like I’m one of those little monkeys that does this [clapping hands].”

He then recounted another specific interaction he once had with a fan.

“I’m up in Sacramento and my wife and I were going through town and the guy across the streets goes ‘Oh, hey!’ — which I like when people think I have to turn around when they just yell ‘Hey!'” he remembered. “I [turn around] and he goes ‘you… tool belt!’… and I went ‘Claw hammer…”

It looks like “Home Improvement” is still just as beloved as it ever was! God bless Tim Allen for continuing to make all of us laugh during this difficult time.
