It’s rare that two people working in the entertainment industry are able to create a long-lasting marriage, but that’s exactly what actress Nicole Kidman and country music star Keith Urban have been able to do. Now, Kidman is opening up about the moment she fell in love with Urban right after she met him at an industry event back in January of 2005.

Kidman recalled that it was when Urban took her on a motorcycle ride on his Harley-Davidson to Woodstock, New York and packed a picnic lunch for her that she really fell in love with him.

“I was a goner — I mean, c’mon,” she told the WSJ. Magazine. The Academy Award-winning actress went on to say that Urban balances her out.

“He’s pretty much the flip side of neurotic,” she said.

Urban and Kidman tied the knot in 2006, and they have since welcomed two daughters. Their oldest, Sunday Rose, was born in 2008, followed by Faith Margaret in 2010.

Kidman explained that her family is her top priority and that she will even “pass on films” when the timing is not right for her husband and their two daughters. When she does work, she tries to pick projects that film close to her home on the east coast, and she typically likes to work in the summer when her girls are out of school.

“We have a system worked out to keep the family together,” Kidman explained. “When Keith’s not touring, it’s much easier. He’ll be on tour next year, and then I just don’t work as much. Literally — it will become imbalanced, and we will change it. We don’t have the answers, but the one thing we do know is that we will not jeopardize us.”

As for Urban, he also has nothing but glowing things to say about his wife.

“What I’ve learned from her is to be more fearless in artistry and go for the curious place that you want to go to as an artist. Don’t question it,” the 52 year-old singer said of Kidman last week.

Urban added that “her whole thing is like, ‘I’m interested in that. I’m going to go over there.’ It’s not like, ‘Oh, can I do it? Should I do it?’ None of that ever comes into it. She just goes towards something and I’m like, ‘Can you do that?’ She goes, ‘I don’t know, but I’m interested in that.’ That fearlessness, and it’s actually not even fearlessness. Fear doesn’t come into it. It’s only curiosity. It’s pure curiosity. She just goes without questioning it.”

He also said that Kidman’s fearlessness has “had a big impact on my music in the last five, six years, particularly. Oh yeah. Yeah. I definitely married up.”
