Luisana Lopilato, the wife of singer Michael Bublé, is speaking out to defend her man after fans slammed him for a video that had went viral showing him elbowing her during an online video chat.

Lopilato, a 32 year-old model and actress from Argentina, was quick to defend her husband of nine years after he found himself in hot water over the controversial Instagram Live video. The footage shows Bublé, 44, elbow Lopilato out of the shot as they each say hello to the camera in Spanish. They both look shocked that Bublé did this, and he then pulled her in for a hug.

Fans were outraged by the video, going so far as to accuse Bublé of abusing his wife. In a social media post written in Spanish that was translated by Hola magazine, Lopilato thanked her fans for their concern, but insisted that there was nothing for them to worry about.

“I’ve seen your messages over the weekend and I am very thankful. Thank you for worrying,” she wrote. “It’s very important that we pay attention to these problems that have been mentioned and that I am lucky not to suffer. But, it is important to pay attention to be able to help women that are going through it.”

“I want you to know that I have no doubts who my husband is and I would choose him a thousand times more!! It’s not fair!” Lopilato continued.

She went on to lash out at critics, seemingly calling out one in particular.

“This person is doing harm and taking advantage of this pandemic where people are suffering, dying and locked up, to have fame and more followers,” she wrote. “He is telling lies that I will not allow because he disrespects my family, so I ask you who have trusted me so much for years that you do not allow it either!”

Yahoo News reported that Lopilato and Bublé live in his native country of Canada with their three children, Noah, 6, and Elias, 4, and 19-month-old daughter Vida. The couple has frequently been taking to Instagram Live while in quarantine amidst the coronavirus pandemic to share video of themselves doing things like working out and cooking together.

While we must be vigilant in calling out any forms of domestic abuse, it does seem like concerns over what happened in this video were unfounded. It’s time for the social media lynch mob to put down their pitchforks, and leave this couple be!
