Meghan Markle’s half-sister Samantha just spoke out to blast her and her husband Prince Harry once again, this time for allegedly abandoning their respective families during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Months after announcing that they were stepping down as senior members of the British royal family, Harry and Meghan are reportedly living in Los Angeles, California with their son Archie. Samantha accused them of being “hypocrites” for making this move while the world is experiencing a pandemic, calling them “cruel” and “disgusting” for ditching their families during this difficult time.

“Harry and Meghan don’t seem to care about families or people around them. Their self-preservation is quite disgusting,” said Samantha, 55. “They can throw stones all they want but they are the biggest hypocrites out there now.”

While the couple is in California, the royal family remains in the U.K., where Harry’s father Prince Charles tested positive for coronavirus last month. Though he has since made what he calls a full recovery, he remains in self-isolation at this time.

When asked if Meghan has reached out to the Markle side of her family, which includes her 75 year-old father Thomas, Samantha said that she has not talked to them at all.

“It’s a devastating pandemic, the idea of abandoning their families without so much of a phone call is just shocking,” Samantha said. “And now to abandon the British people and the royal family at such a critical time it is almost, it takes me back to the colosseum in Roman times. It just seems so horribly cruel.”

Samantha went on to blast Harry and Meghan for their security costs after reports surfaced that the couple had hoped the Canadian and U.S. governments would foot the bill for it. Both governments ended up saying that they would not pay for the couple’s security at all.

“To make the taxpayer pay for their security when the world is dying, it’s shocking grandiosity,” Samantha commented.

President Donald Trump revealed earlier this week that American taxpayers will not be funding the ex-royal couple, saying that Harry and Meghan “must pay” for it themselves. Afterwards, a spokesperson for the couple claimed to Fox News that they had never intended to make American taxpayers foot the bill for their security.

“Privately funded security arrangements have been made,” the spokesperson said.

Meghan has long been estranged from the Markle side of her family, and she has not had contact with her half-sister Samantha in years. Given the fact that Samantha has regularly blasted Meghan in the press in the years since her marriage to Harry, it is unlikely that the half-sisters will be reconciling anytime soon.
