The entire world is struggling to get through the coronavirus pandemic, which has killed hundreds of thousands of people around the globe. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, however, have not let COVID-19 get in the way of them shopping for mansions in the ritzy Malibu area of Los Angeles, California.
Meghan and Harry have reportedly stepped up their house search in Hollywood, as they are eager to find a lavish home there as soon as possible.
“They are quietly looking at mansions in the $15 million to $20 million range that are both beautiful and secluded, offering the privacy they need,” a source told The New York Post.
The couple, who are parents to 11 month-old son Archie, are said to be looking at mansions in the exclusive areas of Beverly Hills and Brentwood. They are even believed to be shopping around with “Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles” broker Josh Altman, who refused to comment when asked about the couple.
One Beverly Hills home that the ex-royal couple has looked at, which is not currently on the market, is described as a modern property has six bedrooms and eight bathrooms on just over one acre. A former owner listed the mansion for $60 million, but it was bought in February for the lower value of $38 million.
The source said that $60 million would be out of Harry and Meghan’s price range, and that they are still in talks about the home.
They are also looking at a six bedrooms and nine bathroom Brentwood home located on a half acre behind gates and hedges. The California traditional home, which is also off-market, is said to have “light-filled rooms, stained oak floors, a wine cellar and a theater with stadium seating.” In addition, the home comes with a pool, a spa and room for barbecue.
Harry and Meghan shocked the world when they announced that they were stepping down as senior members of the British royal family, adding that they would be moving out of the United Kingdom as soon as possible. Though they initially headed to Canada, they have since moved to L.A., which is where Meghan grew up and spent years working as an actress before her marriage. While Meghan is likely comfortable being back on her home turf, only time will tell whether the Hollywood life will agree with Harry.
