Hollywood star Kevin Costner is trying to give hope to his fans during the coronavirus pandemic by releasing a song that is sure to lift their spirits.

While Costner, 65, is known mostly for acting, many don’t know that he is a singer as well with his rock band Modern West. Late Tuesday night, the Dances With Wolves star took to Instagram to rerelease his band’s song “The Sun Will Rise Again,” the lyrics of which are all about light overcoming darkness.

Costner felt that the lyrics of the song are more pertinent now than ever, and he used them to remind fans that there are happier times ahead.

“I want to let you know that I’m doing alright and pray and hope the same thing is happening for you,” Costner said in a video. “I know it’s not easy. It’s pretty confusing.”

He went on to explain that the song, which he co-wrote, “talks about the idea of things being really broken.” Costner admitted that coronavirus has made a lot of things broken as “there’s a lot of noise out there.”

“The only thing I can hope is that maybe this song maybe mirrors how you’re feeling with the idea of how it ends — the sun’s gonna rise again,” he continued. “That’s going to happen for all of us.”

This isn’t the first time that Costner has spoken out to talk about the pandemic that has killed hundreds of thousands of people across the globe. Last month, he took to Instagram to share another song along with a hopeful message.

“Trying to find the right words for the situation everyone is facing is bigger than anything that comes to mind,” Costner captioned the image. “I have tried to circle this with thought and prayer. In the end, as a band we offer up this song. STAND STRONG. With respect, Kevin.”

We applaud Costner for giving his fans such hopeful messages at a time when we all need them. What the world is going through right now may seem daunting, but it’s important to remember that we’re all in this together, and that there will be a light at the end of this tunnel.
