Shannon Bream is best known for hosting the popular Fox News television show “Fox News @ Night,” but behind the scenes, she is a devout Christian who begins each day by reading the Bible and saying a prayer.

“We’re all a work in progress … I’ve been through wonderful highs and terrible lows like we all do in our life,” the self-described “news-junkie” told “The Billy Hallowell Podcast.”

“Through the toughest things is where my faith has become the most personal and has grown the most,” Bream added. “It’s a daily comfort and a strength for me to spend time with the Lord.”

Bream, a former attorney who has been with Fox News since 2007, went on to say that she starts every day with a prayer and a Bible verse because it keeps her “grounded” in the midst of all the chaos that will come throughout the day.

“I am not equipped to handle it myself,” she explained of this chaos.

Bream was raised in a religious family with her mother teaching at the Christian school that she attended, but it was not until middle school that she made the decision to get serious about her faith.

“Have I ever made this personal?” she said she asked herself at the time. “Have I really committed my life to Christ and accepted him as my savior?”

Bream accepted Christ right then and there, and the rest is history!

In the wide-ranging interview, Bream encouraged her fans to find their passions in life and to go with them.

“I’ve always been a very curious person … I think we’re all born with different gifts and different passions and different skills,” she said. “We should encourage people whatever their gifts are … to go into that field and be a light.”

She also talked about the difficult experience of her husband suffering a brain tumor before their marriage, something that she said “put everything into perspective.”

“Thank God he is wonderful and healed,” she said.

It’s so refreshing to see a major television personality to be so open about the strong Christian faith that has gotten her where she is today! Now more than ever, we need more celebrities to be this open about their faith in God.
