Hollywood star Dennis Quaid spoke out on Wednesday to send a message of hope to his fans as we as a nation continue to grapple with the coronavirus pandemic.

While appearing on Fox News, Quaid talked about what life is like for him in quarantine amidst COVID-19, and also revealed what he hopes will happen when our country reopens again.

“I think this a time — this is our World War II moment and I think there is going to be a spiritual reawakening of this country,” he said. “We already see it, everybody coming together. There’s going to be something really powerful and wonderful that comes out of all of this for us as a people … and the world.”

The 65 year-old Parent Trap star went on to say that he’s already seen Americans “re-learning how to do many things in our lives” and “take care of others at the same time.”

This pandemic came at a difficult time for Quaid, as he was supposed to marry his fiancé Laura Savoie, 26, on April 4, but the couple has had to postpone their wedding for obvious reasons. Despite this, Quaid is maintaining a positive attitude to get through this difficult time.

“We are here making lemons out of lemonade, and when the quarantine is over we are going to make different plans and have some lemonade,” he said.

Quaid had previously opened up about postponing his wedding last month.

“We were supposed to be married April 4 in Kauai,” the Far From Heaven star said. “[Actor] Craig T. Nelson gave us his house. It was going to be nice and small.”

“We postponed… once we started to hear about Italy… We have a few members of the family and friends who have low immune systems due to medical treatment, medical issues going on. We decided, ‘Let’s just postpone,'” Quaid said.

Though there is a nearly forty year age gap between Quaid and his fiancé, he said last month that he had no doubt in his mind that she was “the one.”

“I just know. I really found a partner in life,” he said during an appearance on “The View.” “[This marriage is the] fourth and final — this is it.

“She’s really fantastic,” he added of Savoie. “She has a double master’s right now in economics and business. She’s just a soulful, wonderful, beautiful person.”
