Thor star Chris Hemsworth has just opened up to reveal what happened the first time he met Hollywood star Brad Pitt, who turned out to be just as down-to-earth as he’d hoped he’d be!

As an A-list Hollywood star, Hemsworth has met plenty of famous people, but he told People Magazine that he was still star-struck when he met Pitt at his premiere for his 2019 film, Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood. In fact, Hemsworth was so star-struck by Pitt that things got a little awkward.

“He went to do a handshake and I went for the hug, he was fine with it,” Hemsworth remembered, adding that he “didn’t get attacked” by Pitt’s “security team or anything.”

“It was fantastic. He was as wonderful and pleasant as I’d hoped and imagined,” said Hemsworth, 36.

Pitt went on to win an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in the Quentin Tarantino-directed film. While Hemsworth did not appear in it, he was one of many Hollywood stars to attend the premiere of the coveted movie.

Hemsworth also talked about why he decided to leave California and move back to his native-Australia in 2015.

“When you’re suffocated by the work, every conversation that you’re having and every billboard you’re seeing is to do with a movie or whatever around the industry,” he said. “You lose perspective.”

These days, Hemsworth is loving life in Australia with his wife and their three young children.

“There’s not a single person [in Byron Bay, New South Wales, Australia] that I interact with, or close friends of mine, that are really in the industry and so that’s hugely refreshing,” the Avengers: Endgame star said. “It’s great for my kids and my wife.”

As for Pitt, the 56 year-old star has certainly been staying busy in quarantine amidst the coronavirus pandemic. Over the weekend, he stole the show on “Saturday Night Live” with his portrayal of Dr. Anthony Fauci, who has played a major role in the U.S. government’s COVID-19 response. Fauci had previously joked that he would love to see Pitt play him on the NBC sketch comedy show, and that wish ended up coming true in the best way possible!
