Matthew McConaughey gave a much-needed message to social media today, probably to offset Vanessa Hudgens, who stepped in it on Monday with her Instagram post.

McConaughey offered words of calmness, hopefulness, and encouragement on how the world through this event should take the chance to understand the opportunity we have to come together and respond to the spread of the coronavirus.

A number of celebrities, Tom Hanks (and his wife), Idris Elba, sports figures and many more who have tested positive for coronavirus — have been using their platforms to spread important information about how people should be listening to the experts and following instructions to help get rid of this thing sooner rather than later.

McConaughey: “In these crazy times that we’re in with the coronavirus, let’s take care of ourselves and each other. Let’s not go to the lowest common denominator and get paranoid,”

“We have an enemy in coronavirus that is faceless, that is raceless, sexless, nondenominational, and bipartisan, and it’s an enemy that we all agree we want to beat — we want to beat and we’re going to beat ‘em.”

McConaughey added that there was a “green light on the other side of this red light that we’re in right now” that’s going to be built upon “the values we can enact right now.”

I always have enjoyed his positive way of thinking and the relaxed way he expresses it! I hope that the nation does come together to stop the virus and will become a unifying band-aid to weather this storm.
