Fans of the classic NBC television show “The Office” got a huge surprise on Sunday when the show’s star John Krasinski launched his new YouTube show “Some Good News” with actor Steve Carrell as his first guest.

Krasinski kicked off his show by thanking all of the healthcare workers who are bravely working to help the American people through the coronavirus pandemic.

Once he concluded this short monologue, Krasinski introduced Carrell, and the two proceeded to celebrate the fifteen year anniversary of “The Office” premiering.

“So Steve, this week marked a huge anniversary for you and I,” Krasinski said. “We were on a little show called ‘The Office’ and it turned 15 years old this week.”

“The Office,” which ran from 2005-2013, starred Carrell as Michael Scott, the regional manager of a paper distribution company called Dunder Mifflin Inc. Krasinski appeared on the show as Jim Halpert, one of Scott’s employees in the company office.

During the discussion between Carrell and Krasinski, the two talked about their favorite episodes and memories from working on the beloved show.

“Some of the most fun memories, personally or professionally, are intertwined and connected with that show,” Carell said, adding that one of his favorite memories was the hilarious “Dinner Party” episode and “all of our exchange around the micro-flat screen TV.”

Carrell went on to say that another one of his favorite memories was when Krasinski’s character impersonated the character of Dwight Schrute, who was played by Rainn Wilson.

“Part of what was so much fun about it was that everybody in the cast was rooting for everybody else,” Carell explained. “People would step back when it was time for people to shine and celebrate it. When you came in as Dwight that day it was crazy watching Jim do Dwight. You were a very good impressionist in general, I don’t think people know.”

Krasinski recalled that his favorite episode was the famous Christmas episode.

“I remember when we did the episode where you played Santa and were very upset that Phyllis was already Santa. So you were asking people to come sit on your lap and Brian [Baumgartner], thank God, was chosen to sit on your lap,” he said.

Later in the interview, the pair talked about the reunion that fans have been clamoring for for years.

“I know everyone’s talking about a reunion, hopefully one day, we just get to reunite as people. And just all get to say hi,” Krasinski said, making a reference to social distancing.

“Just to see your face is so great. I miss you a ton man,” Carell told Krasinski at the end of the interview. “I really think you’re going to make something of yourself.”
