Passengers are supposed to get splashed, but not soaked on Disney’s Jungle Cruise attraction.  However that was not the case this week, as a boat carrying a whole group of people sunk during the middle of the ride.

Folks in the boat behind them took videos of the disaster as it unfolded.

Passengers had to get out and start rescuing one another as the boat went under.

One of the passengers shared pictures of the boat after it sunk.

Matthew Vince shared the images of the sinking ship on Twitter and wrote, “Our boat on the jungle cruise sank today. Fun times!”

I have been on this ride so many times and each time I’ve looked into that grey, murky water and thought “that looks so gross and dirty. Please don’t let me fall in!”

Ha ha ha!

BuzzFeed News reported that Disney did put out a statement on the boat saying  “a Jungle Cruise boat took on some water and that the park immediately called the Reedy Creek Fire Department to respond to the incident. Everyone got out of the boat safely and the attraction was reopened”

The Jungle Cruise ride reopened after an interruption of 105 minutes on Thursday afternoon.
