Norbert Schemm’s last request was to have one last beer with his boys.

The 87-year-old man died last week after being diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer. The night before he passed, his family gathered at the hospital where he requested to have one last beer with his three sons.

Schemm’s daughter Paula Bucholz snapped the photo of her dad with her three brothers Bob, Tom, and John, sharing two bottles of Bud Light next to their father’s hospital bed.

The special moment was then shared by Schemm’s grandson, Adam. He tweeted a tribute saying, “My grandfather passed away today. Last night all he wanted to do was to have one last beer with his sons.”

The picture quickly went viral, and has now gained more than 334,000 likes and has been shared more than 30,000 times.

Norbert’s obituary says he graduated from Appleton High School and then served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He coached baseball while working for Wisconsin Electric Power Company for more than 40 years.

Norbert is survived by his wife of 65 years Joanne, along with his four children, nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
