Victoria’s Secret Features Its First Size-14 Model
Ali Tate Cutler announced via Instagram Friday that she is the first size 14 model to be featured in a Victoria’s Secret campaign.
Plus-size model, Ali Tate Cutler is working with Victoria’s Secret as part of the brand’s new partnership with London-based lingerie company Bluebella. While Cutler is part of the VS X Bluebella campaign, she was brought in by Bluebella and hasn’t been officially hired to model for VS.
Victoria’s Secret is using a woman of Cutler’s size in a lingerie campaign for the first time ever. This comes after getting clobbered over a lack of diversity.
Victoria’s Secret’s new collab is not only its latest attempt to revive the company, which faces competition from brands with more inclusive marketing strategies but follows the departure of longtime chief marketing officer Ed Razek, who said trans and plus-size models weren’t right for VS.
Lorena Duran was named Victoria’s Secret’s “first curvy model” when she signed with the brand in April. VS hired its first transgender model, Valentina Sampaio back in August.
