According to local Austin, TX news station KXAN, cheerleaders at Westwood High School were recently kicked off the squad for “vaping violations” when the administration became aware of certain social media posts.

One of the former cheerleaders, Lily Baizer told Local station KXAN, “A lot, if not all of the photos were from before we signed this new one and done policy, and I think that’s one of the most unfair parts about this.” Baizer added, “Me holding a vape, and like, that was it.” She added, “And that was I guess enough to be kicked off the team.”

Let’s be real, this is far from the first and certainly wont be the last time some high schooler learns that what you post on the internet is forever and it can come back to bite you.

Another former teammate, Meryn Meyer said, “Just the principal in what they’re teaching their students is like, you mess up once, like, bye, sorry.”

Apparently, the cheerleaders had to sign the school’s “zero-tolerance policy” while some other student athletes didn’t.

The policy reads in part: “Zero Tolerance The use, possession of, or association with tobacco, drugs, and/or alcohol at any time while being a member of the cheerleading team is prohibited. This includes weekends, holidays, and during the summer … Violation of these will result in your removal from the squad.”

According to KXAN at least four of the girls’ parents are appealing the decision to the principal and area superintendent.
