Zac Clark is a 16 year-old boy who was working in his garden recently with his mother Lora when they suddenly heard their neighbor’s wife screaming for help. They quickly realized that her husband had been pinned beneath his Volkswagen, and Zac knew he had to do something.

The neighbor had been working on his vehicle when the jack slipped of, causing the bumper to crush his chest as another part of the car pushed down against his head. By the time Zac got there, the only visible part of his body was his thrashing legs trapped under the vehicle.

Lora looked on in shock as her son did not hesitate to take action. As Zac’s adrenaline kicked in, he placed his arms underneath the 3,000-pound car, and began to lift up.

“Without even hesitation, he darted, like sprinted over to the house,” Lora said.

“I guess the jack broke or slipped and the car fell on top of him from the waist up,” Zac added.  “Only thing I could see was his legs and he was struggling.”

In the end, Zac was able to lift up the 3,000-pound car and save his neighbor’s life in the process.

“He had a couple of cracked ribs and his face was messed up pretty bad, but the doctors told him if I wasn’t there then he’d be dead,” Zac said. “I just thank God for putting me in the position and giving me the strength to do that.”

Zac’s football coach Dave Carroll said that while he was impressed by the teenager’s actions, he was not surprised because the young man is always helping others.

“Why it doesn’t surprise me that he did this, he has just a huge heart,” Dave said. “Here’s a young man who’s been through tragedy himself with his father passing away last summer and he didn’t hesitate at all and saved somebody’s life.”

Zac said that he is hoping to become a firefighter someday, so it looks like this is the first of many lives that he will be saving. Find out more in the video below.
