Back when the fourth hour of the “Today” show was hosted by Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford, they loved doing a segment called “Plaza Ambush Makeovers,” in which they would grab people from outside their studio and give them, well, ambush makeovers!

Now, a 2015 video of one of these segments has resurfaced, and it’s going viral in a big way. In the video, 64-year-old Brenda Macy from Joplin, Missouri and 41-year-old Dr. Lori Nelson from Oakland, Maine are given transformations that have to be seen to be believed.

First up is Brenda, who has been married to her husband for 45 years. She was overjoyed to be chosen for a makeover.

“That’s what she’s been hoping for for a long time,” her husband Herschel said.

Before the makeover, Brenda was a lovely woman with long flowing hair, but her posture indicated that she was not confident in herself. It was time for a change, and the “Today” style team was there to help her out.

Those who are getting made over in these segments do not get to see themselves at all during the process. In fact, it is only when the makeover is done and they step onstage to see their loved ones that they get to look in the mirror. When Brenda came out onstage after her makeover, her husbands was was moved to tears!

“It takes me back 20 years,” he said.

Brenda was also thrilled with the makeover, and she could not believe how good she looked afterwards!

“Oh wow! [I feel] a lot different!” she exclaimed.

Next up was Dr. Lori Nelson, who was also excited to be chosen.

As a pathologist and mother of three, Lori said she rarely gets time to pamper herself.

“I just never get to take care of myself. I’m a pathologist, I’m always in the lab and I never see people,” she said. “This is the highlight of my life.”

Lori was in New York with her best friend Erica, who waited patiently for her friend to get her makeover. Once Erica saw the results of it, she could not believe her friend’s new look!

“Oh wow, you look amazing!” Erica said as she removed her blindfold and saw the results of the makeover.
