A Norwegian Cruise Line vessel recently came under fire as passengers demanded refunds and complained of well, everything. People were referring to it as the “holiday from hell.”

The 14-day cruise, left Southampton on September 27, was meant to dock in France, Amsterdam, Norway and Iceland. A stop in Amsterdam was switched to Le Havre, a passenger told Cruise Radio. However, high winds prevented the ship docking there. After several days at sea, passengers complained of stale food and toilets not working. And we’re not done. A stop in Iceland was canceled, and passengers were unable to disembark at Greenock, near Glasgow.

Local reports showed the ship abandoning its attempt to dock at Greenock. The vessel was in Dublin on October 9, according to vessel-tracking information, having sailed there from Belfast.

So what happened? Twitter.

A Twitter account was set up to document the chaos on October 8. The first tweet talked of “riots” aboard after a fifth docking cancellation of the trip. Videos posted to a YouTube account show angry confrontations between staff and passengers, and people demanding refunds.

A letter from Norwegian Cruise Line was tweeted by the same account, it showed an offer of “25 percent future cruise credit…” UNREAL.
